Previewer 4.1: Enhanced Field Display and Performance Boost

Included text: Previewer 4.1. The logo of the Previewer is displayed on the right side of the text.

Previewer v4.1 greatly improves the look of the Previewer field in the Form Editor and Block Editor and adds support for the new AJAX form submission process introduced in Gravity Forms 2.9.

Ironically, the Previewer field has never shown a preview of the PDF viewer in the Form Editor – form builders only ever saw a placeholder. Thankfully that’s all changes in v4.1, and you’ll get a much clearer picture of how the PDF Preview will be rendered on the front-end with your chosen settings. This applies to both the Form Editor and Block Editor.

Two screenshots demonstrating the PDF Previewer field in Gravity Forms. Screenshot 1: Form Editor interface showing the Gravity PDF Previewer field selected. The field settings panel is open on the right side. Text "Form Editor" is below the image with an orange arrow pointing to the Previewer field. Screenshot 2: Block Editor interface with the Previewer field selected. The block settings panel is open on the right side. Text "Block Editor" is above the image.

To keep your admin experience performant, we don’t load the full PDF viewer library or render a real PDF. So in a sense this is still a placeholder, but at least it’s a useful one that better represents what your end users will see when they fill out the form.

Along with the improved back-end viewing experience, we’ve added support for the new AJAX submission process Gravity Forms quietly added in v2.9. As far as we know, you can’t actually enable the new AJAX feature anywhere in your admin area yet, but when you can we’re ready to go. 👍
