Time flies when you’re having fun! In the last month there have been nine releases across our suite of products – 10 if you count the security improvements made to user accounts on GravityPDF.com. Thinking about this piqued my interest, and I wanted to find out just how many improvements we’ve made this year. Modern life is so busy and always go, go, going. So it’s nice to stop and take stock of just how far the product has evolved over time. Turns out we’ve been busy bees! Since January 2024 there have been 28 updates: 11 feature releases and 17 bug fixes/improvements. Talk about being on a roll. 🥁
Let’s start with the biggest release of the month: Gravity PDF Previewer hit the 4.0 milestone. The primary focus for this update was performance and security. The CPU and memory footprint have been improved across AJAX-enabled forms, and we’ve optimized the auto-refresh algorithm. The results are a faster and snappier user interface. You’ll also find improved support for the Image Hopper and native Post Image field type in your forms.
Along with the new features, we bumped the minimum software requirements to Gravity PDF 6.0+ and have closed a high severity vulnerability in the PDF.js library used by Previewer. We encourage all customers to update to 4.0 as soon as practical.
Next up, PDF for GravityView got a v1.1 update. This plugin is now fully compatible with the recent GravityView 2.24 release, which allows you to mix and match view types across your Multiple and Single Entry layout. You might also enjoy the new Form Notifications feature, which can automatically add your GravityView PDF as an email attachment when Gravity Forms Notifications are sent. Cool, eh?
The PDF Invoice templates have leveled up yet again, and now includes direct support for the third-party EU VAT Gravity Forms plugin – a big time-saver for EU business. The release also sees improved support for Gravity Forms Coupon add-on when using the invoices’ tax-inclusive pricing feature, as well as the Deduct Deposit code snippet when using Gravity Wiz’s eCommerce perk.
Finally, we’ve strengthened the security over at GravityPDF.com to reduce the risk of your user account being compromised. The measures are three-fold: all accounts have two-factor email authentication enabled, a new 12-character minimum password policy has been implemented, and an email confirmation is always sent when updating your account email or password. You can find more info on the user account changes in our blog.
