Meet Greg.

In this edition of our Team Member Spotlight, I’m excited to introduce you to Gregory Zamora, fondly known as Greg. At just 25 years young, Greg brings a fresh perspective and boundless energy to our Gravity PDF team. With a background in IT support for local government, Greg made the exciting leap to remote work and joined the team a year ago. As a Junior Developer, Greg plays a crucial role in our Bespoke projects, helping to cater to the needs of our customers. Beyond his work, you’ll find him engrossed in captivating books or embarking on gaming adventures that take him to far-off virtual realms. Greg’s passion for both knowledge and leisure fuels his creativity and adds a unique spark to his work-from-home experience.

What's something that not many people know about you?

Ambivert”. I can literally blend in with any group of friends. I’m never out of place unless I want to be.

What do you like most about working with your team?

Encouraging, relaxing, and learning.

What's your favorite way to unwind after a long day at work?

First, I jog, after that I either watch some series, movies or hunt some monsters. 🏹

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?

My dad. I just wanna talk with him about everything.

How does your current job compare with the previous jobs you’ve had?

It’s way better because the life-work balance is superb.

If you’re given three wishes, what would they be?

Financial stability, longevity, and a fulfilled life.

What's one thing on your bucket list that you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

Marriage, financial insurance, more travels. Hopefully the same work-life balance, and a better version of myself.

What do you find the most challenging part of your position?

Complicated projects with lots of customizations! But I don’t take it negatively; I like a good challenge. 💪

What advice would you give to someone getting into software development?

Always be willing to learn.

How do you stay motivated at work?

Projects motivate me. I am happy as long as there are projects to work on.

What’s a unique part about working for Gravity PDF?

It’s the work-life balance it provides. That makes it one of the most unique and probably the best.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Gravity PDF, whose would it be?

Dan Tabifranca. Because marketing skills are invaluable.

Do you have any hobbies or interests that you’re particularly passionate about?

I have always wanted to have a man-cave. I am passionate about building my own, where I can prioritize my mental health.

What's your favorite book, movie, or video game and why?

Favorite book? A lot. Macbeth, Hamlet, Divine Comedy, LoTR series, etc. But Iliad has been my favorite of all time. These epics are just masterpieces that I love reading over and over. Movie? Hands down “The Wolf of Wall St.” lost track of how many times I’ve re-watched it. The rollercoaster ride of the plot, based on a true story, is just amazing. Video game? I’ve been playing League of Legends since 2011, so the game has always been with me through stress and happiness, it has a special place for me.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Healing. 🍃

What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?

The broadness and the flexibility of the work. Not to mention the opportunities.

What is the best thing you learned since you started working at Gravity PDF?

 Oh, basically everything I’ve learned since day 1.

What is on your wish list for the next two-to-three years with Gravity PDF?

In terms of my wish list: I’d like to see a continued commitment to innovation and growth, both in terms of products and services offered, as well as the development of our team members. I hope to see a continued investment in employee training and development programs, as well as an emphasis on creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.

What's the best advice you've received, who gave it to you, and how has it impacted your life?

Out of everyone in the company, I’ve been in constant contact with Glenn Tangalin (Project Manager). While it’s nothing specific, he has always been guiding and helping me in tackling difficult situations when it comes to development. His advice has been extremely helpful to me.
